Knit your own Chunky Mohair Jacket Alpine Breeze No.12: an oversized cardigan in soft shades of blue with a fair isle pattern of little flowers and diamonds, finished with striped sleeves in rib. Thanks to the stranded colorwork it is thick and warm, more like a cozy jacket. Perfect over a top or a thin sweater.
Clear pattern, step by step
The pattern guides you through every step, with color charts for the fronts and back, a line drawing with the stitch counts per size and a color overview for the sleeves. Available in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian.
Good to know: in many rows you work with 3 colors at once. This kit suits knitters with some experience, or anyone ready to take on their first fair isle project.
Yarn: MYPZ Chunky Kidmohair DK, a high-quality, finely brushed mohair. Brushed yarn may shed a little at first; this decreases after a while. You knit with 2 strands held together in Raw Dark Blue, Ocean Blue, Royal Blue, Coconut, Sand and Mauve.
Gauge: 8 sts x 9 rows = ± 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 12 mm needles.
Tip: fair isle is often knit a little tighter. If you tend to knit tightly, choose one size up.
